Frequently Asked Questions

If you are reading this, the chances are you have started running Ultramarathons. Below are the questions we are regularly asked by other Ultramarathon runners.

  • How does the 100 Ultramarathon Club work?
Our club is open to anyone who has run at least 1 ultra-marathon, but to be a full member you must have completed 100 Ultramarathons. The stages are: Associate member for all runners aiming to become a full member. You will not be able to wear the 100 Ultramarathon shirt or vest until you become a full member. Full member for any runner who has completed 100 Ultramarathons. We will check your spreadsheet against official results as part of the vetting process.
  • What events qualify as an Ultramarathon?
An Ultramarathon distance varies greatly from anything over a marathon distance (which is officially classified as an Ultramarathon on the official results) to well over a hundred miles for a single run. The event must be open to all applicants, subject to spaces being available. The event must have a minimum of 15 runners starting the event, although all 15 do not have to finish or could finish shorter distances. The event must be a minimum distance of 27.2 miles with no maximum distance. The event must have insurances in place, either via the organiser being affiliated through a governing body or their own insurance. The event must publicly publish their results.
  • Do multi-day events count towards my total?
Multi-day events do count, but how they count depends on the event. A single event run over multiple days will count as one event. A multi-day event with different stages or a new run each day and with results will count for the number of days / events that are run.
  • Where can I download my results spreadsheet
Our current system is a downloadable spreadsheet which you can submit to us for vetting at info@100ultramarathonclub.com. As we develop our systems we will improve this process, so check back!
  • Are runners from all countries and nationalities able to join?
Yes! Whilst we are based in the UK, we want this to be a club where runners from all countries and nationalities feel welcome. After all, it doesn't matter which country you run your ultra in so why should nationality matter?
  • How do I order kit
We currently are managing kit on a pre-order basis. This takes approximately 6 weeks from placing the order until it arrives. We are also consolidating our kit orders, so please ensure you are aware of the dates which we will order kit. These are approximately every 3 months so please try and ensure you work out the date of your 100th ultra and ensure you order your kit in time! We will be releasing kit in the future for runners on their journey to 100 ultramarathons.
  • Is there a club committee?
We have a small committee running the club, which is a not-for-profit organisation. Any surplus will be invested into providing new products or helping to subsidise events for members. As the club grows its membership base, we will introduce a larger committee with committee appointments being approved by members.
  • If I have a complaint, how do I raise it to the Committee?
All complaints should be sent through to info@100ultramarathonclub.com We aim to deal with any complaint within 21 days of it being received.
